a chance to get some old windows.

right when david and i moved into our house last year, we went on a search for some old, rugged glass pane windows to decorate our walls. we looked everywhere, and while they are not really hard to come by, they are ridiculously priced. and by ridiculous i mean, the cheapest we found them at antique stores was $250. it made me so mad…

until i found out about the spartanburg preservation trust. right now they are renovating an old neighborhood in spartanburg called hampton heights. in order to raise money for their organization, they take the old windows, doors, and other things from these old houses, and sale them to people… for a lot cheaper than $250. so i called and made an appointment and they met me at their building. i picked out my three windows and got all three for a grand total of $15. this is the end result (plus a little painting and unbelievable deals on the chairs and endtable):

the spartanburg architectural salvage is now officially opening to the public. grand opening this saturday, may 10th from 10am-2pm. 307B W. Main St. (above Cohen’s Closeout). for more info, visit the website above or call 864-542-2282. be creative with some windows, while giving to a good cause!
