so a couple months ago i went to a baby shower for my friend joanna, and somehow during the shower my friend courtney got tickled that i was giving baby advice. i don’t really remember what i was talking about, but i’m sure it was how much i love some sort of baby item. so, just to make your day, courtney, i’ve compiled a list of my favorite baby items as a new mom (and a few of levi’s favorites as well):
1- gas drops: granted this is probably on all must-have lists, it wasn’t until i actually saw the miraculous power of gas drops that i became a big fan. the stuff literally works in seconds. i don’t go anywhere without them. runner-up: gripe water. all natural, and we use it mostly for getting rid of hiccups. again, crazy how soon the hiccups stop.
2- the “bear” rug: okay, so this adorable and super soft little area rug is not really a bear… it’s a dog. and even though everyone knows it’s a dog, we still call it the bear rug. levi loves his bear rug. he lays on it and looks out the window at least once a day. my brother-in-law’s girlfriend, morgan, gave it to him, and i have so many people ask me where she got it. she got it from a store in Florence, SC called Toy Shop.
3- trumpette socks: okay so i just think these are plain adorable… and they are the few socks that actually stay on levi’s feet ALL DAY LONG. my friend katie gave these to him, and i seriously try to pick out an outfit everyday that matches one of these colors so he can wear these socks. i love them… i think it’s the shoelaces.
4- formula dispenser: i wish i would have thought of this… it has three different sections where you put premeasured powdered formula. then when it’s time to eat, just flip open the spout and pour into your bottle. it’s almost too easy!
5- swaddle me blanket: granted, my mom and mother-in-law both think it looks like a straight jacket, but if levi does not have this on when he goes to sleep, he doesn’t sleep. he ends up waking himself up by jerking his arms and proceeds to get mad and cry about it. therefore, the swaddle me blanket is a must-have for me.
6- baby mel diaper bag: i wanted a diaper bag that was big enough for everything i needed for levi, but would also look like a bag i would actually carry for my purse. so i found this. i love it.
7- gumdrop pacifier: these are the pacis they gave us in the hospital. i’ve tried other pacis… levi doesn’t like them as much as he likes this kind. it’s similar to the soothie, but it doesn’t take up room on his entire face the was that soothies do. so far i haven’t seen them in any stores though. i’ve heard you can get them online or get them at the hospital… that’s all.
hmmm… that’s all i can think of for now. but hey, i learn about something new every day!

that stuff is too cute – love the diaper bag! that kind of makes me want a baby knowing they have cute stuff like that to carry
