first flight…

so this thursday levi and i are getting on a plane to fly to kentucky for my cousin’s wedding. initially we were going to try the whole 8 hours in the car thing, but after a trip to and from charleston/edisto this past week, we decided it might not be a bad idea to at least look at how much it may cost to fly. and wouldn’t ya know it, it wasn’t that bad. around $200 round trip, and levi just sits in my lap so he’s free (and happy, might i add). he’s usually fine in his carseat… for up to an hour and a half. then he’s hot, restless, and honestly just ready to be out.

so to all you mothers who have ever traveled with an infant (if any actually read this blog), i’m wondering what the essentials are for this flight? what do i do about formula (with the whole 3 oz. rule)… do i need to take his birth certificate for i.d…. things like that… and any other pointers would be great…

  • just a thought i had was to ask the pediatrician about his ears…air pressure, etc.

  • Take a water bottle and put the formula already in the bottle, like you normally do! Or vice versa. Feed him during take off and landing and his ears will be fine. Change him on an empty seat! That is the worst part and bound to happen! Flew a ton with Brennan and Logan as infants. If there is room, get a whole row to yourself and lay him down. He will be fine! yes on Birth Certificate. They may give you a hard time about photo, so you may want to check AAA about a photo id for him. Worth the hassle. Boo though, I want you to come spend camp with me.

  • Hey there lady. I can’t help you with the motherly stuff, but regarding the formula quantities and such… you can search the airline company website for special requirements but the link below for Transportation Security Admin (TSA) appears to be the more helpful.
